Personal life

After seeing her performance in ''The Story of Alexander Graham Bell'' (1939), 18-year-old Ricardo Montalbán, who worked in his father's store, became enamored of the 15-year-old Young. The two subsequently met at a party in 1944, and married only days later. They were married until her death in 2007 at age 83 from undisclosed causes. The couple had four children.
